From Informal Cleaner to Branded Service Provider

From Informal Cleaner to Branded Service Provider

The Cleaxa Origin Story

Cleaxa didn't begin as a grand business idea in a boardroom. It began with one person delivering exceptionally good cleaning to one STR host in Lahore, and that host telling three others. The business was built on word-of-mouth before it had a name, a logo, or a business plan.

Phase 1: The Informal Stage (Months 1–6)

The founder — a domestic worker who had been cleaning homes for 4 years — was introduced to their first Airbnb host through a family connection. That host needed reliable, fast, hotel-standard turnovers between guests. The informal arrangement: PKR 1,800 per turnover.

Within 3 months, 4 hosts in the same building were using this service. Revenue: PKR 28,000–35,000/month from cleaning alone.

The problem: Availability was limited to one person. Demand was outpacing capacity. Hosts were frustrated when the cleaner wasn't available for same-day turnovers after last-minute bookings.

Phase 2: The Pivot to Business (Months 7–18)

The decision to formalise: bring in 2 additional cleaners, create a standard operating procedure, and give the operation a name: Cleaxa.

The SOP Challenge: Training two new team members to deliver the same quality as the founder was the hardest part. The first month with expanded team resulted in 2 complaints from hosts — "Not as good as before."

The Solution: Founder-led side-by-side training for 2 weeks. Photographic checklist completion requirements for every turnover. Quality inspection of every new team member's first 5 solo sessions.

First 10 vs. First 100 Clients: The Acquisition Journey

StageClient Acquisition MethodConversion RateAverage Client Value

💡 Business Lesson: The first 10 clients are the most important — not because of their revenue, but because they define your reputation and generate the referrals that make clients 11–100 possible. Treat your first 10 clients as founding partners, not just customers.
